Self Help Group
Empowering Women to Become Economically and Socially Self-Reliant
MANT is committed to empowering women from marginalized and underserved communities by strengthening their skills, knowledge, confidence, and leadership abilities. Through capacity-building programmes and Self Help Groups (SHGs), we work to create opportunities for women to become more economically independent and actively participate in social development within their communities.
Leadership Development Through Nai Roshni
As part of our women empowerment initiatives, MANT has undertaken Leadership Development training for women from minority communities through the Nai Roshni programme.
The training is designed to strengthen women’s knowledge, leadership capabilities, and confidence while creating awareness about important social, financial, health, and legal issues.
Key Areas Covered in the Training
The Nai Roshni training programme focuses on:
- Leadership Development
- Educational Empowerment
- Health and Hygiene
- Swachh Bharat and Community Cleanliness
- Financial Systems and Financial Literacy
- Life Skills
- Legal Rights of Women
- Digital Literacy
- Advocacy for Social and Behavioural Change
The programme encourages women to become more informed about their rights and responsibilities and equips them with practical knowledge that can support both their personal development and their participation in community life.
Supporting Women’s Participation
Recognizing that many participants may depend on daily wages for their livelihoods, MANT provides a stipend to participants for all six days of the training programme. This support is intended to compensate for the loss of daily wages and make it easier for women to participate in the training without facing additional financial hardship.
Building Independence Through Self Help Groups
Programme Goal
The programme aims to uplift marginalized women by fostering self-reliance through skill development, financial literacy, awareness, and collective action.
Self Help Groups provide women with opportunities to develop financial management skills, strengthen their ability to generate income, and participate more actively in household and community-level decision-making.
Through collective participation and mutual support, SHGs can also serve as platforms for women to discuss common challenges, access information, and work towards positive social change.
Why This Programme Is Needed
Women from marginalized and underserved communities often face limited economic opportunities, restricted access to resources, and barriers to social participation. These challenges can make it difficult for women to achieve financial independence and have a stronger voice in decisions affecting their lives and communities.
Providing women with relevant skills, financial knowledge, digital literacy, leadership abilities, and awareness of their rights can help address these barriers.
Self Help Groups play an important role in this process by bringing women together and creating a supportive environment where they can learn, collaborate, develop livelihoods, manage resources, and build greater economic independence.
Creating Opportunities for Lasting Change
MANT believes that empowering women goes beyond providing short-term assistance. It involves creating the knowledge, skills, confidence, and support systems that enable women to take greater control of their lives.
Through leadership development, Self Help Groups, skill-building, financial literacy, and social awareness, MANT works towards strengthening women’s participation in both the economic and social development of their communities.
Our Commitment
MANT remains committed to creating an enabling environment where women from marginalized communities can become economically self-reliant, socially empowered, and active contributors to their families and communities.
By investing in women today, we work towards building stronger families, more resilient communities, and a more inclusive society.
